Day 2:
We start early in the morning with breakfast and final packing of rucksacks and sledges. We walk from Erdal to Staaleskardet nearby Lodalskaapa (2,083 m). It is a tough start to climb almost 2000 m and finally reaching up to the foot of Lodalskaapa. On the way up we follow the Erdal Glacier and past a steep and magnificent looking glacier called "smaatten". Including breaks we are looking at 10 to 12 hours of skiing and walking before we can set camp for the night. In the tents the taste of freeze-dried food is heavenly!

Day 3 and 4:
The days starts with breakfast and melting snow for making water. This day is considerable easier with glacier skiing in 1700 - 1900 meters of altitude. We pass the well-known viewpoint "Kjenndalskruna" (1,830 m) and also passing the glaciers highest point "Breakulen" (1,952 m). The view is fantastic when the weather is good. The trip is in April or May and the weather can vary from "t-shirt skiing" to winter conditions with snow and wind. After 8 hours of skiing every day and a small break every hour, we arrived at our next camp.

Day 5:
After a delicious breakfast we start skiing on our final day passing the Glaciers narrowest point called "Bing's pot". This day is much easier than the previous days and if we have time we "summit" "Supphellenipa" (1,734 ft.) to enjoy the vast and magnificent view. Then the trip continues to Flatbre cabin in the southern end of the glacier. From here we walk down the steep glacier and down the valley towards Fjærland. We expected to be on the move for 8 hours this day. After arriving our final destination we go by car to Sogndal and have a big party at the local hotel.

Day 6:
Small plane back to Oslo and the return home
